Trump's impeachment trial is unconstitutional for the very simple fact that Chief Justice John Roberts isn't presiding. The Constitution is clear:
"When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside". It is not a matter of discretion, it is mandatory….ROBERTS HAS TO PRESIDE! Many will argue, that Donald Trump is no longer POTUS and that Joe Biden is now the POTUS. I only invite one to actually read the Article of Impeachment submitted to the Senate by the House…The Article of Impeachment states DONALD JOHN TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is being impeached by for high crimes and misdomeanors. I don't think you can be clearer than that…Chief Justice John Roberts must preside.
There's no denying it. The Republican Party has not produced a good candidate who produced the office of President in 2016, but an economically motivated phony. And furthermore, the Republican Party has failed to produce another politically stable and electable presidential candidate in 4 years. The Republican Party has been at a major low point for 8 years now, and its elected leaders have had to go on what is already an acting fantasy tour to pay homage to these autocrats in order not to lose power themselves. This is where the weaknesses in the democratic system of the USA become apparent. If a party only nominates incompetents, the whole confederation splits. A weakness that has now become very obvious. So that this does not happen again, such an upstart must be punished as quickly as possible.
