  1. Do they really have to use words like 'special schools' or 'special education' it can be very insulting for children who attend them with learning difficulties

  2. I was in special Ed all my life now I’m 23 and out of school and I really feel bad for these kids it must be really hard

  3. I have much respect for the teachers that have risen to the occasion and learned a whole new way of teaching for both special education and general education students. Teachers doing what teachers do best thinking outside the box in unbelievable difficult circumstances…. now meeting another huge challenge with hybrid learning.. teaching student in person and virtually at the same time. Thank you for sticking with our kids through this national and global emergency.

  4. I feel for that kiddo, I'm in High School and have Special Needs, one of the hardest parts of online learning for me is all the noise and stuff going on in the background on the zoom/Google meet call.

  5. I was originally specia Ed and my little sister is in preschool and is special Ed but I feel so bad last year was her first year she loved schools everytime she sees a backpack she says bus but doesn’t understand and she cant keep a madk on

  6. It's tragic the citizens of the U.S.A. have chosen not to invest in public education infrastructure and teacher for decades. If the citiznes had just listened to teachers needing supplies, smaller class sizes, windows that open, safe buildings to learn in, the students, schools and wouldn't be in this mess.

  7. I'm homeschooling my child and I'm provided with all services. The school districts lack funding for special education. If parents with special needs kids were provided with more resources for the child and parents this wouldn't be as stressful for some.

  8. As a SpEd teacher, this is exactly what I have been thinking since all this happened. Nobody takes into consideration that most of my children need in person teaching for them to actually learn something. To be honest, it’s due to those teachers that are “too worried” about the virus…aka too lazy…that we have not been able to go back to in person teaching. All I am saying is to give teachers and parents THE CHOICE to resume to their preferred form of schooling, just like those afraid of a virus have the choice to stay home.

  9. Many school systems really dropped the ball on this. How they pick it up and do right by these children will make all the difference.

  10. I feel for both sides. As a mom with special needs high school student we have fought for our son’s services. When the pandemic started we didn’t hear from anyone. March went completely silent until 3 days before they decided to started school. All his services disappeared and online had been a nightmare for him. It’s been a real struggle.

  11. I agree with the mother who said we are not the expert. As a mother of a child with special needs I feel her deeply. I believe what she meant is she is not expert special needs educator. And we are not. Just like parents of neurotypical child her not the expert on their education. Education work best as a collaborative process. The parent are the expert of the child and educators are the experts for the education component.

  12. People fail to realize it is extremely difficult for many special needs learners to socially distance. It's critical for these parents to be more involved.

  13. It seems so wildly impossible to imagine that the people still willfully in a comatose state after a year of this insanity… will ever wake up.
I don't know what to think any more…
Sometimes I'm certain it's all a mass awakening happening at turtle-speed, and all is perfect; divine timing.
Other times… watching zombies in maasks, salivating with excitement over the mark of the beast… that's when I lose my ability to hold on to hope…
(I also heard David icke speak in an interview about the coming of 6g and 7g! How will humanity survive that?)

  14. Really, those children getting nagged with too much curriculum. Focus on rest and build immune system. Am Pro Choice, but personally not for mine bc they not listening to No, Social Distancing and be repeating like a parror🌽

  15. We decided to homeschooling for our teenage son, it is well done, he learned more than at the school. All special needs students are different.

  16. I work with people and kids with disabilities so I understand what his mother is going Through parents I see you I hear you as a para educator for kids with disabilities and young adults with behavior issues I get it I understand I am frustrated I’m frustrated for you I’m fighting for you believe me when I say I hear you I understand we got this we’re gonna get through this you guys are all the real MBPSU parents out there with special needs and behavioral issues.

  17. Not only do these parents not know how to teach special needs kids, kids don't respond the same way to their parents the same way they do their teachers or other adults. I heard that once from a mom who was a special ed reading teacher and couldn't teach her own disabled daughter to read, but another teacher was able to.
