  1. @F1nir What's so good about Google TV? Once they get it right … the mashup between TV and the Internet…. What I want is Tweetdeck and broadcast TV on my 50 inch flat-screen TV. I want to be able to watch TV and answer my e-mails at the same time. I want to watch a ballgame and receive links I can click on to get further stats on the players. I want to participate in my TV more. Imagine being able to watch a world-wide event unfolding on TV and tweet about it to a worldwide audience.

  2. @SlashRose It has both Wi-Fi and Ethernet. I hooked mine up directly to the Cable Modem via Ethernet. It seems to run faster that way.

  3. @andreo I have a DVD recorder that has an over the air tuner in it made by Toshiba. It works well receiving over the air digital TV.

  4. @UvoraTheOnlineWorld I would say the main feature is to be able to watch / listen to the Internet (similar to Boxee Box or Roku or Apple TV). But it also allows you to watch broadcast TV. Hopefully, the thought of mashing-up TV and Internet has already occurred to the designers at Google TV. The unit runs the Android operating system (just like my cellphone). But there's one big flaw: NO ANDROID MARKET. There's only about 20 or so Apps. You can't get at the rest.

  5. It runs Android 2.1 just like my phone, but rendered useless without Android Marketplace. It only has about 20 or so apps. For example you can't download Angry Birds and play on your TV. You can't download a drawing application to doodle drawings on your TV. You can't download Tweetdeck so you can tweet about a TV show while watching it. I wanted to watch TV and have a picture in picture window to watch the Internet. What is the holdup in delivering the promised update?? Still waiting

  6. @andreo I think they plan to release the Revue in Europe in Q1 of 2011. This might be able to work on TVs with built-in digital TV like mine…I might buy one and import it to see. It may even mean a HDMI from the TV to the Revue and then another from Revue to TV…I just don't have the ports free for even one HDMI cable 🙁

  7. @scbonduk No, I understand. I was just kidding around with you. Google should have had a few more ports on it. Not everyone is using their HDMI ports and a few that don't even have HDMI input on their TVs. Some coax in would have been good for people that do not use sat or cable boxes. And a must for people in area that use scart.
All I can say is it's version 1 of the device. I'm also not sure if this is supposed to be a global launch. So models in your area could be different.
    Take care.

  8. @andreo It's not that I'm not using HDMI. My Bravia has four HDMI ports, all being used. And my main point was that the majority of those in the UK and probably Europe that use cable or satellite services have a box that uses scart. The HDMI options are there but for a while they've not been needed. Those that don't use satellite or cable in the UK now have free to view digital TV which has now completely replaced analogue TV…but Freeview here mainly uses coax or scart still.

  9. @scbonduk Your not using HDMI on your TVs?! Ha Ha Ha. No seriously!

    Just kidding.

I get your point. There are people out there that don't subscribe to cable or satellite. I'm one of them. There's a handful of shows that I watch and they are all offered free over the air. So I just use a Media Center PC to record and watch them.
As for the other features. I get those through a $20 program that runs on the PC that talks with my Xbox.

  10. Where is the component video output for my matrix switch so i can distribut en control google tv with my Pronto tsu9600 anywhere in my house..
    Please think manufacturers.

  11. I really want one of these but the thing I don't get is what do those who don't use HDMI to provide digital channels to their TV?! I use an aerial that plugs into the TV by coax.

If I can't work around that then I might get the digital cable TV extended to my room.

  12. I'd like to see a coax input so it can search tvguide.com, show the current ota shows, and switch to that channel. I don't want to switch video inputs between tv and google

  13. Dish network is coming out with it but from what i understand you need to buy another hd box if you have more than one tv and there expensive you also have to have hd tvs not standard tvs a person might as well by the box from logitech or sony or get a sony tv with google tv already built in doesnt seem like it will be easy for everyone to get for such a big project there making out of it were it seems to me it should be easier for everyone to get instead of so hard any thing dish has isnt easy.
