4. Did you deburr the ends of the rings before you put them on the pistons. When you grind them it leaves little burr on the ends.

7. the piston can only go in one way is that the rod pin is not in the center to account for way it rotate

10. Hey man, u can buy the snap ring pliers very cheap so you won't need Charlies rigged up needle nose pliers to do the piston pin snap rings
