12. Jacob speaks like a very intelligent young man. I wish simply that he had made better decisions on that day. As to his tomorrows- I hope that he continues to heal, and gets to live his life with as much independence as is possible. I think that Mr. Jacob Blake could help MANY of our BLK men by simply telling them to fight it out IN COURT and not in the streets. I wish him well, and seeing this video has very positively changed my attitude about his thoughts that day, although I still would have advised him to just heed to their commands. Hey Jacob … Don't be a victim (you are STRONGER than that). Talk (by itself is cheap), but YOUR WORDS could be spoken, SO POWERFULLY, because they're words that you did live, and are living …. man, "speak", and educate OTHER BLK MEN that the outcomes of interactions with the police is 99% in THEIR (OUR) OWN hands. 14. A black man in Philadelphia allegedly killed his child's mother, and her mother, took the child, and was tracked to a motel room. Guess what? He was taken without incident. Why? He did not resist arrest. This is how to ensure you survive an encounter with the police.

15. The most common denominator of many of these incidents is that if an officer is placing you under arrest, just comply. Especially if you know you're in the wrong. Why? Because police are human beings. We can all either make a mistake, or be so frustrated, that we do more than is required for a situation. In civilian/ police encounters, the civilian, particularly the person being investigated at the time, is at a disadvantage. That is the reality. So, survive the encounter with common sense. Do what they want for the moment. Then, if there is misconduct, you have the opportunity later do do something about it. Maybe even effect change if need be. Most people know this. That is why less than 1% of all police interactions with the public end in a fatal shooting. Don't believe me? Look it up and do the math yourself.
