I work in lending. PPP is so abused. There is minimal oversight and virtually no requirement for people who received the PPP. These people told the govt they needed money for their business to stay open and then turned around and bought homes.
One couple of realtors (no employees) were trying to buy investment condos with the money (not allowed).
Another business paid off all of their credit cards and bought a Mercedes.
Seeing the blatant fraud and abuse has fundamentally changed my belief in programs like this.
The government needs to investigate anyone who purchased a new home after getting a PPP. Find out what they told their lender. We need to determine the business is stable before handing over a loan (required) every single person has said “I didn’t really need it”. It was free money to most of these people. Disgusting fraud and abuse.

I never got any for my company. Not a single penny. I have a micro business with 7 people when the pandemic started, then 3, then now there's me and another guy. Nothing from the government. But yeah, let's help the billionaires and millionaires. Awesome.
