Every time I send a message I get a message at the bottom there I would normally get a time stamp but instead I get a message that reads "Message Not Sent" touch to retry. I turned MSM on and also tried with MSM off I have full bars on my signal and all my apps are up to date? why can't I send out a message?

This is quite useless video. You should rather explain to the elderly how to send SMS using hangouts. Most of the elderly are totally confused from not understanding the concept.
I really like hangouts but I find it very annoying that almost every other message I send I have to resend cause it won't go through. Is there any fix for this? Using M8 .
