Making a Motor Mount From a Wrench!

Got some more things done on Charlie’s wago. Got to drive it around and push it when it died on us, figured out some ground issues and got a custom motor mount made to keep his engine from flexing every time it starts up. Making the mount from a wrench is not our original idea, we saw it done before and wanted to give it a go.

  1. I make grounding kits for several chassis and no one ever believes how important they are until they run into a issue like you guys have!

  2. mount idea is sick.. im gonna be welding a homemade traction bar right to my 92 hatch, and make a wrench mount for my f20B

  3. its way Better to sodder The wire's together & or sodder the end wire to a connector to get a better connection then to use those junk crush on Butt connector's. .. & looks like that battery need to be strap down better. a problem i had a long time ago was on a starter ground wire's that i had used a junk connector on That ended up coming lose over a short period of time.. . I ended up having to Sodder the wire to a copper connector ground wire. to make sure it didn't come lose.. same thing with doing harness's a break in a wire that is not sodder & using crush butt connector with out sodder can make you lose amps & current. . & make a battery not fully charge up. also.

  4. Guys, I see y'all struggling to cut stuff all the time with that shitty sawzall. Get a cut off wheel for your angle grinder! It would make quick work of anything, even the hardened steel of that wrench.

  5. Hey man, if you have problems with your batteries always dying, I highly recommend picking up a battery charger. Like, the alternator doesn't actually ever charge a battery, it just puts in exactly what it takes out, never more. Also, your battery discharges around 1% per day that you don't use it. But by keeping it on a charger you can seriously extend the life of your batteries.

  6. what setting do you use on that mig because i have the same one and either the speed is too fast or it starts spray welding

  7. and welding to anything on an engine can ark between the bearings in your motor and eff shit up. never heard of it actually happening tho
