  1. I currently use an S4, I also have various pieces of S4s including screens batteries frames and motherboards. I also have a nexus 5 kicking around… and a spare for parts.
    Don't judge me, I delved into thw world of phone repair.

    I got these devices in 2017 when they were meaningless to most people with their newer phones, compared to these "old" devices with a few teething troubles. But as an anti-consumer and techie, the S4 works great for me.

    I'm currently debating whether or not to switch to the Nexus, as I'm suddenly not getting notification sounds for many apps.
    I could probably do a software fix for this. Or add a newer OS to it.

  7. which one should I pick when the S4 is about €20 cheaper than the Nexus5? I personally pick the S4 because of the amoled display, and to be true I think the Nexus5 screen kinda sucks (washed out colours). I also use the camera many times and I just like to have my screen brightness on the middle and not at the lowest because otherwise it won't last the full day.

I'd say the one that endures longest and has the longest lifetime wins, don't care about speed when you don't have enough juice to burn through, also, repairing becomes a con for the nexus here, you'll probably have a tougher time getting spare components for the nexus than the s4 as not all countries generally sell nexus phones.

    The galaxy s4 is a great phone
    I have to buy a phone in 3 weeks and I'm stuck deciding between the phones above. Samsung has a slower processor and may be lag with new lollipop update. Nexus 5 has no removable battery, a worse camera but a smoother experience. I have a rooted android tablet and I'm not afraid of tweaking. What phone should I buy? They are the same price HELP ME

  14. Speed? On GS4? Now that's a lie-er overstatement. Unless you're judging it based on the latest update being Android L. My friend, if you truly had this device for a while and had to scroll through your SMS, you would smash it just like I've smashed mine and ran as fast as I could to HTC. That GHOSTING display, and supper unbearably choppy scrolling through SMS, or any fast paced game – ITS A JOKE! I'm going to buy one more today LOL, for mom, she likes her GS3, but GS4 is coming to her for sure today, for her, she's used to it. Thanks for the review, I was trying to choose between the two, and Nexus, even to Samsung, seems like a $100 entry device in terms of looks and many other aspects – thanks LG ! What a kraphone – sorry, I get all emotional.

  15. 6 Months ago i bought the nexus 5. Good Phone.
    Only thing i didn't like about it is the battery life. it really sucks.
    After using it for like 2 hours continuously, it would drop from 100% to 15-20%. And that is the only thing, i didnt like in this phone. The rest is fine.

  16. 1 year ago I bought s4 although they had same price. I chose S4 because Nexus is 16GB only. 16 GB in year 2014 seriously? Google drive is bullshit if you don't have a reliable internet connection. I love mtb and I spend most of my time with doing it. All I see when I'm in forest or camping No Service. JUST LET IT GO Google put a freakin sd card slot!!!!

As a owner of Nexus 4, I think mine died today, anyways, when 2 years ago I was thinking between Nexus 4 and Samsung S3, Nexus costed 399 euros and S3 429 euros but by just dropping 1 look at the stats, you could tell that Nexus 4 beat S3 by a longshot, but now, when I'm comparing Nexus 5 and S4, I can say that S4 fights up pretty well, it might be my next phone now.

  25. S4 much better. Slot for sd card, more battery, better camera. The only thing, in my opinion, that nexus 5 wins is being a Google phone.

I owned a nexus 5 after switching from a s3 and it was the worst decision of my life, the camera is awful, the battery is even worse, it was so buggy it made ios look decent, all manner of things happened to I traded it for a new one and the power button was broke when they sent it me, then switched back to a galaxy s4 which I still own now, best decision I ever made

  32. Why does this guy always say "the S4 is a pretty reliable phone"? He must have said that at least like 5-6 times.

    That is such a stupid thing to say.  Most smartphones are very reliable.  Most don't break as long as you don't drop them.  Most smartphones are very reliable but some are just faster than others, some have more features, some have better execution.  So its a question of speed, features and execution NOT reliability.

  38. s4 just have better camera..i am ok with the wuality of nexus 5 as my last phone was a xperia j..i am ok with the batery life as ai mnot all the day int the internet and i don't care about speaker quality as i listen to my music by my earphones..so…which wins…

  43. I love my sgs4 i have it for 1 year now. I upgraded it eith a 2900 mah battery and a 16 gig class 10 sd and a carved case that made my phone with a special look its a killer!

  45. Hey, I am buying one of those phones and I'm torn between which phone I would like. Both phones are pros and cons for both. What do you guys think. Any hands on experience with any of the phones? What's your verdict?
