15. Why is Chuck Todd emphasizing deficit spending? Adults should understand opportunity cost: the idea that you have less net growth in the future due to not investing in growth now. If the opportunity cost with a deficit(future profit – debt payment) is higher than 0, you need to go into debt to make the investment. It wont make God happy if America pays off its debts and becomes a good little conservative with a nice tight haircut and regular church attendance, countries dont work that way.
