Reports say that neither the UK nor the South African variant is more deadly. However, the South African variant does reportedly affect 15-25 year olds more.
The vaccines have not even been tested yet on younger, underage teenagers or children, so if they start to get infected and hospitalized, at minimum, the schools may close and cripple the economy. Their parents will not be able to take care of them at home and also work.
