I don’t care what anyone says… they were in the wrong… only thing they should of done (if they truly thought he was a thief or trespasser or whatever) is immediately call the police and maybe FOLLOW Arbery from a safe distance in their vehicle. Just so they could hypothetically give the dispatcher the best location for the police… that’s a maybe they even should of did that…

A grand jury has charged three Georgia men with federal hate crimes and attempted kidnapping in the death of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man who was shot while jogging last year.

The law and facts of the case itself are pretty straightforward.
Would a reasonable person observing Arbery’s conduct– halting his progress along the street in front of the home under construction, looking around for witnesses, entering the home, staying inside a few minutes, then fleeing from the scene at speed– have had a suspicion that Arbery unlawfully (a certainty) entered the property with the intent to steal (inferred from conduct, as intent is always inferred from circumstantial evidence)? Yes.
Since they could have a reasonable suspicion of felony burglary, then the McMichaels were privileged under GA law to make a citizens arrest of the fleeing Arbery. You might not have done it, but they did have the right.
If privileged to make an arrest of a fleeing felon, they are necessarily privileged to pursue and stop that fleeing felon in order to make the arrest.
When Arbery then attacked Travis McMichael and fought him for his shotgun, it was Arbery committing an unlawful act of deadly force aggression, and the McMichaels who were conducting themselves lawfully.
Arbery’s death, as unfortunate as it may be, is then simply the lawful outcome of attacking an armed man who is acting lawfully, fighting him for his weapon, and getting lawfully shot and killed in the process.
See, it’s not all that complicated, if one sticks to the actual evidence and cites the actual relevant law.

The worst thing the murders and the Glenn police was to not help Ahmaud Arbery while he laid in the street trying to breath. I am a white man who served in Vietnam. Basic medical assistant when someone is shot in the chest is too close the wound immediately. Here is the basic first aide. Keep a hand over the wound. Find chest seal or tape to seal the wound. Call emergency medical assistance immediately. The murders and police officers could have saved his life if they would have followed proper procedures. They did not want him to live and that's why they did nothing.

When shot in the chest it is important to close the wound to allow the injured to breath. No one did anything or call 911 for medical assistance. I believe the three men in the chase and murder be sentenced to death. The responding police should be fired and stripped of all license and benefits.
