I am lucky enough to have health insurance through my job, but I just went and decided to compare by going on the Covered CA website. I was shocked to see how much people have to pay for decent insurance, and the deductibles they have to pay before they even get decent care and this is for middle income families. We should not have to pay more than house payments for our family's health insurance. It sounds like its good for people who can't or don't work, but not for middle income families. It needs to be fixed. Insurance companies can negotiate prices, by hospitals and providers, but people shouldn't get surprised with crazy outrageous medical bills months down the road. We need something fair for all. Middle Income people are really paying for lower income, while rich elites look for tax loopholes so they don't have to shell out more money for people of lower incomes.

When you work and you make 40k per year. You don’t qualify for any subsidies. So you pay 350-600 for a general preventative policy. So when you get sick and/ or need treatment you have to meet your out of pocket maximum and your deductible. Leaving you FUCKED. SO you’re better off not working so you can get CADILLAC insurance !!

Obamacare screwed the average American.The people who get medical free are still getting it free, the work insurance covered get it at their group rates, the rich can afford a decent policy but the middle class who pay out of pocket have to decide between bills paid and kids covered. I pay out of pocket because I can't afford the cost, and have NO insurance at all. There are millions just like me. The situation is worse than ever before. Trump is trying to make average policies more affordable but the dems who are heavily invested that market stock are blocking it all.

No one dare bring up that myth of "wait times"– I had to wait 8 YEARS to get my autoimmune disease diagnosed and treated because my "health insurance" was already so costly I couldn't afford the deductible and copays on top of rent. I couldn't get a better job because I was sickly and falling apart and I couldnt get healthy without meds, and I couldnt get meds because I couldn't afford the doctor. Despite working 40-55 hour weeks suffering. 8 years of unnecessary WAITING in misery, all I needed was a diagnosis and meds to manage my disease.
