Just fyi it's not a core it's a carrier. It carries all the gears is a way to remember. Knowing terminology may sound unnecessary but 1 it makes you seem knowledgeable and 2 if you seem knowledgeable you are less likely to be taken advantage of getting things like this done. As well the popping with mig welding gears is going to happen. If it was Tig it wouldn't pop. Mig will spatter hence why they make a coating tyo prevent spatter from sticking to the surrounding material and welding it in the car is not a big deal unless your welder doesn't have a lift.
