15. THIS NEWS REPORT ISN'T ACCURATE! Police didn't target people of color, people of color were the reason the police were there in the first place. Had the crowds been lawful the police would never had been called. It was the people of color (95% + black, less than 5% white and Hispanic) who created the stampedes and damaged cars by jumping up and down on them, it was the people of color who were bolting out of restaurants without paying, it was the POC who were fighting and damaging the city and business owners property at one point they were throwing the outdoor chairs and tables. It was the business owners who contacted city officials and asked them to step in to help because their businesses were being damaged and stolen from. It was the businesses who first volunteered to close their doors because the POC were costing them money damaging their businesses and residents property. You can report and try and make people believe the police were heavy handed or racist but it was because of the actions of the People Of Color that the businesses asked for help from city officials. Had the POC dispersed when told to the police would never had to use pepper balls or arrest anyone. It was the POC who refused to go along with the curfew, the police begged and pleaded with them for over an hour the first night to leave but the crowd ignored them and even cussed and screamed at the police in defiance. I can't believe the media would dare throw this back on the police when there are so many video's showing the trouble makers and the damage they caused.
