1JZ Challenge – Engine Install & FIRST START!

Working unbelievably late (or should I say early), we got the engine and transmission mounted and we’re able to fire it up – but there was a BIG problem. ONE DAY LEFT!

  1. Kid, I spent 40 years as a mechanic, when you have a broken off stud like that at 0:49 you need to get that manifold section up to dull red – cherry red heat and then give the stud a wriggle back and forth then start to undo while keeping the heat on the manifold. Also while it's red hot give the stud a bit of a resounding whack straight up to make the thread release, works nine times out of ten….A bit of brute force and ignorance in that situation can go a long way!
