  17. When you desire to render the people mute and so confused they dissolve into numb zombies, just convince them information cannot be trusted.

    Convince them the news about government actions cannot be used to make meaningful judgements.

    Causing frustrated citizens to disengage from interacting with their government is a preferred method for politicians to sever off representation of all their citizens. Many Republican politicians do not believe that representation derived government decisions is their duty.

    For years Republicans argued "Elections have consequences".
    This was their way of cloaking their loathing of citizens in their districts who disagreed with their concepts of "one size fits all" fall-in-line Republicanism.

    Representational offices require authentic, sincere and EQUAL reception and servicing to the petitioners of all citizens within the area of jurisdiction of public offices.

    The House Representatives must respond to the needs of all their constituents. The Senators must respond to the needs of all their State constituents. The President must respond to all their national constituents.

    What can be more inimical to our Constitution than unequal access to government for a redress of inequality?

    Of the two parties, Republicans have had the greatest resistance to examining government priorities and problem solving by task, rather than by viewing solutions through only one point of view.

    Now they are deliberately using confusion, chaos and fear to thwart independent rational thinking in their voters, hoping the people will be so tired and turned off from the arbitrariness and arrogance of their leaders they just surrender rather than think for themselves.

    A tired, frightened and confused people are easier to fool, easier to order around, easier to fleece.

    An independent self-ruling people insist on truth, authenticity and straight forward fact-based discussions by their leaders. This is missing from our current President, and it shows.

    He is treating us like only partially grown adults – like half grown children too ignorant, to easily played, to be told the whole truth – as if useful information is too much for us to handle.

    The truth is partisan politics fails the people, fails the nation, regardless of the party in power because it is missing the full measure of the people's intelligence and alliegiance.

    Those politicians who haven't the strength to govern by the truth, to trust the people to determine how best to use the truth do not deserve to govern at all.
