We HATE seeing these things happen to beautiful cars, and that’s just what went down at Streetcar Takeover Indy. This badass big turbo LSx Fox lined with the that rear wheel drive Eagle Talon you saw on our channel and the outcome is nothing short of terrible. We’re glad to report the driver is ok, but the car obviously needs some paint and body work…maybe even some chassis repair. Let’s hope we see this racer back out on the race track soon!

  13. I don't think the team mechanics properly understood the pro's , con's & consequences of running a Hybrid drag car.
    It's hard to see but they have grafted possibly the largest single phase electric "squirrel cage induction motor" into a the "traditional" boosted drag engine they had in their car. Every other part in the system runs at a variable speed except for the electric squirrel cage motor , they are built to run at their "plate" rated RPM & stay at that speed no matter what. A PWM electrical feed may be able to vary it's speed but normally they have no variable speed option.The nail & wooden block mounts tell me the installation was not done by a Qualified Electrical Tradesman. I can't make out how they had it plumbed into the blower system , despite watching the video 3-4 times & pausing it a few times to get a better look at the start of the clip. Somehow at the top end they managed to produce a very high pressure system under the hood as it appears to blow up into the air before impacting the wall.
    The old Tim Allen mentality of more power & fitting a proper sized AC electrical supercharger , rather than those pissy low flow Ebay electric blowers may have been involved , glad that no one got physically hurt , the financial pain for testing out hybrid drag engines will be hurting people for a while tho.
