I think its because they fear another testing shortage as we enter into the Fall. So they don't want to tell the truth of why they stated the cut back. Just like they did with the masks at the beginning. They first said don't wear masks as it wasn't going make a difference. Then order people to wear a mask to protect others. Again, I think this was to stop mass hoarding until Health Care workers were well supplied first. Just my take on the sudden switches.

500,000 people die from the flu every year. Because attention right now is on COVID19, every flu death is counted as COVID19. The COVID19 doesn't test specifically for SARS-CoV-2. Anyone who has the seasonal flu counts to COVID19.
The point is that it's difficult to know whether or not the 180,000 deaths are in excess to the 500,000 expected every year, are its just part of it, or all of it. If all of it, that would mean death rates are actually LOWER than the seasonal flu.
This is why its important to have a baseline, or else every death will seem like one too many.
How can reducing testing bring numbers down of the virus down?
That makes no sense not everyone is gonna test positive.
But to get and maintain as many negitive as possibe & those that do test positive have to be isolated.

When you deplete your oxygen level needed by 30% on a daily basis by wearing masks. This also weakens your immune response significantly which makes it that much harder to fight off any viruses. Viruses like the seasonal flu, common colds are now 5 times harder and take longer to overcome. Make sense now why we are supposed to wear masks and get sick people.
Contact tracing. Obviously "being exposed" and "asymptomatic" means you could have it and are potentially spreading it. Those people are the single most important people to test so they take precautions, because they could think they are ok and they are NOT. It's the bases for contact tracing. You need to stop the spread by people that THINK they are ok, but are NOT. Is this how case numbers are forced into a down cycle on paper? (Yes)
Well when these states are threatening to shut down people's livelihoods AGAIN when hospitalizations are dramatically decreasing but cases are still being found I think this would be a good thing. These Governors are using "cases" as a political agenda. People are going to get sick but if hospitalizations are going down then we should be returning to our damn lives. We were told that everything was shutting down and we were "shuttering" so hospitals didn't get overcrowded. I think we have succeeded in keeping our hospitals maintained. Then why am I going broke? Why can't the restaurant I waitress at open up fully? I dont qualify for the new federal unemployment because waitresses make $2.63 an hour and even though I was working fulltime I only qualify for $75 a week on unemployment. This is hurting single parents and low income workers the most and no one seems to care because they are working from home and never missed a beat.

In Texas they're making us pay if we want to be tested the hospital and doctors offices to I don't understand that they're charging $75 for a test WHY? And WHY are they being allowed to do that ??
My daughter Katie and her boyfriend tested positive for Covid. NO ONE followed up with them to do contact tracing in Missouri. Katie is 19 and her boyfriend is 20. That’s right- NO Follow Up Contact Tracing whatsoever. 😤😱

The CDC along with all other departments run by the government are no longer credible. I smell countrywide chaos in the air. This government has turned into a swamp thing from hell. If this election does not place the democratic party in complete control that will be the end of america as we know it. My personal trust in mankind will be gone and it will never come back.
Pressure from Trump administration caused the rollback. He’s simply trying to artificially slow down the death count before election because it’s more than likely to surpass 200,000. And he’s already an embarrassment. His whole family is, really.
The CDC is not corrupt; they have been infiltrated and undercut by this administration. Word is, the administration issued these changes directly to the CDC while Dr. Anthony. Fauci was in the hospital for surgery, under anesthesia. They waited for him to be put under, then they told the CDC to make these changes. It's the administration that is corrupt.
