Defence production act is really helping USA. No export of vaccines nor raw materials. I m happy for USA that it's going fast. But also remember this problem is bigger than the states. As I see here from Belgium it seems that europe caries the burden of producing vaccines for most of the world EU allows companies to export vaccines to nations in need or that have no production what slows down our roll out a lot. last numbers I saw 2 weeks ago shows that EU allowed export of 77 million vaccines. while USA keeps everything for themselves and more. I find it disturbing that here in Belgium factories have to send vaccines to canada acros the atlantic while there are factories closer in USA to the canadian border. Biden can prais himself but what he doing is very selfish on a global stage. And sure it's ok to take care of your poeple first. But in fact Biden is blocking of contracts to countires that paid a lot. many elderly poeple elswhere on this planet not getting a vaccine while america is vaccinating the young. The defence production act meens that a factory in USA has to forfill it contract first with Biden before its allowed to honor other contracts. This is a case of vaccine nationalism to the extreme. Don't forget that so many countries invested in tihis and made it possible to develope and produce vaccines.
