She's right, child care is infrastructure, we no longer live in tribal clans, where teens and oldest adults cld take care of children while parents worked for survival, we no longer live in expanded families where teens and oldest adults cld take care of the children while the parents worked, we no longer live in a country where wealth is spread at least somewhat equitably so that the middle class cld afford to hire nannies and governesses. We live in a country, at a time, when parents need professional childcare – it doesn't matter which is "better," we have to deal with reality. Even farming xstian fundamentalists shld be able to understand that, bc I don't know any farm where one of the adults doesn't do some farm work – whether it's milking, hoeing, processing produce, etc. We need professional childcare, just like we need schools, so that working adults can work, and so we can train our children in the knowledge we've accumulated over thousands of years. The Aztecs had schools, bc they were a civilization, with acquired knowledge to pass down. Studies show that kids who go to high quality pre-school programs, like Head Start, do better in elementary school. Even farm kids need to know how to run a business, they need to understand the society they're providing food for, and as members of a democracy they need to understand how our government works, things they learn in school bc parents are too busy working to teach those things in depth.

    I love this woman! As in, I think the world of her and am inspired by her in a way that NO main-stream political figure, in my 58 years, has EVER inspired me. And SHE worries Wall Street. Nuff said!
    While I was disheartened when she dropped from the race, I now see/understand the reason. I don't think she could have motivated the needed support of the centrists to get the numbers needed to win.
    Biden? Yeah, O.K. And I have voted third party since '84. At least Biden actually believes in America.
    On a side note, at the risk of seeming sexist, I think she is HOT. She makes my blood boil. Not in a standard way, mind you, but her intelligence and passion make her sexier than mere physical appearance ever could. Her husband is a very lucky man.
