something i’m not proud of

I’m not proud of the fact that I did the bare minimum to get by. It’s not something I like to talk about – it’s honestly embarrassing to me. But prior to that, I honestly didn’t realize someone could make their way through the system with learning virtually nothing. I draw from my experience and mistakes to try to offer insightful advice that will help you get the most out of your time spent in college. (Continued).

I am by no means saying degrees are pointless. If you are fortunate enough to go to college like I was I think it’s important that you get the most out of it you possibly can. Seeing people I know approach graduation that seem to have taken nothing from college makes me nervous. College will suck tons of money and time out of your life – get the most out of it you possibly can and it will 100% be worth it.
I understand that this may not be possible at all schools or in all majors (yours might be really prestigious or have super high standards), but I feel like generally speaking the vast majority of us can relate to this situation (we’re not all becoming doctors and engineers).

  1. Here I am, watching this in June of 2020.

I am truly blown away by how you approach the life you live, it seems very well thought out and inspires me to follow my own dreams. I got my degree and I manage a Hotel right now to pay the bills, but driving provides me with a feeling words cannot even begin to describe. I will do whatever it takes to spend more time in my car seat then in my office seat. Thank you, Adam! Such great advice in this video.

  2. This video is old but is still so relevant. We tell kids that college is necessary and school education is needed. I never went to college or etc and I was looked down on by a lot of my friends out of high school, I'm now 27 and most of those people that were friends are now college graduates working fast food or some other low paying job and I've done so much better in life because I didn't waste my time or money it's crazy how our system sets everyone up for failure

  3. I live in Europe and passed college by doing absolutely nothing, I could just read my books the morning before the exam and still pass. I still went to classes but many of my friends didn’t and they also passed. And it’s not like we’re some geniuses. I found high school to be more challenging honestly, i think i forgot more from high school than I learned from college after graduating. But a degree is still important here it makes a big difference in salary. It isn’t just America where education quality is dropping.

My college in particular just makes everything super easy because the more students pass the more money they get from the government. There is also a massive shortage of parking space despite there being tons of room but again they get money from the government if the have more ‘green’ area. That makes many students not going to classes.
