Roller skating has always been popular it's so fun
They should mention how the rinks in California are businesses that are seriously suffering during the pandemic. They have been shut down for a year. They are not classified as fitness like this broadcast refers to skating so are slammed shut. Meanwhile fitness centers a tenth of the size can have 25 percent inside. Yes skating outside has been popular but also has become overly crowded, trendy and hip quite frankly. Thats not skating thats a fad

I am just going to say this once and only once for everyone to hear: thank you to everybody in the comments who said roller skating never went away. I don't know who said it's "cool again" or it's "coming back," but as far as I am aware, it was always cool and never went anywhere. For all you people who have not been roller skating/rollerblading all these years, y'all have been missing a LOT. this is why roller skating needs to be an Olympic Sport. Amazing skaters are not getting the attention they need, and for some reason y'all think Oumi Janta is all that. She's great as a skater, but one, she is not a jam skater she is more of a dance/ rhythm skater, and two, have any of y'all heard of Shamar Cunningham? Bet you haven't. There are tons of amazing skaters out there, and I think Oumi is great, but she's not the best that I have seen. I'm not the best either, but people really need to stop with all the nonsense that this is coming back. It has been here and it is here to stay. Period.
Excellent presentation! I skated most weekends during middle school, at a local roller rink, way back in the 70s. It's great to see people still love skating! I've moved. But, there's a local roller rink which has recently reopened, with precautions regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Monday nights are geared towards older adults, like me. I plan to check it out.
