Fastest Australian STREET CAR – 192 MPH!!!

Not a street car? You might think – but this beautiful Valiant Charger owned by John Faraone has DEFINITELY proven itself. Traveling all the way from Australia for his FOURTH Drag Week, John definitely went through hell and back this year. First, his car was held in US Customs for SIX weeks..until luckily it was released 3 days before Drag Week Started. Then, a crank trigger broke during his first pass, only to have a throttle body go bad on the road after day 2 – causing him to miss Wednesday completely, and spend 6 hours in a car park trying to fix the issue. Despite the troubles, John was able to break his own personal record TWICE, and set the new record for the FASTEST mph 1/4 mile street car in Australia at 192.17 mph!

  1. how that car is shown, would not last 1 night on Australian streets, police would have a fucking field day going over that even with engineers certs and everything in order. No way in hell can any car drive down the road with slicks, let alone that size tyre. Would be a fuckng magnet for the popo..

  2. Im from Perth originally , there is no way that is street legal in Perth they have the strictest rules in Australia , you cant do anything in Perth without getting a yellow sticker

  3. There’s faster cars here in Aus than this.. a few Cortina run 6sec on std chassis no tubs and rego..but there owners don’t really care to go to USA..

  4. Awesome. Now try and explain to the Yanks, that a car just like that, with a 265 slant 6 Hemi & triple Webbers, was for about 40 years the fastest ever built standard Australian car, at least down the quarter. Look up E38 & E49. (I could be wrong, but my understanding, an E49 was an E38 that had a very short dif ratio. Apart from that, they're the same car.) Faster than the the 350 smallblock HQ, faster than the GTHO (any of them) faster than everything made until about 2005….. If you wanted to go racing, in '72 ~ 3 ~ 4, in a standard car, the E49 was the thing, and it stayed that way until about 2005. Brock C'dores, including the Blue Meanie, quick, but not that quick. The mighty Walkenshaw, quick, but not that quick…
I could be wrong, but I think the first car that was quicker, was a turbo XR6. I think the blown V8s in Holdens, made in the U$ are now faster, but when you have a 6 litre V8 with a blower, on a street car, it should be fast…

  5. Believe or not most Australians when it comes to their own cars are 100% like him, they take there cars & call them names, like she, not it or that car, we say she did it in 7.42 seconds for the 1/4 mile & 192 miles per hour. WELL DONE JOHN Just shows you what you can achieve.
Also consider what most drags cars that he is racing against unlimited, so your talking cars that have a lot of sponsors & backing up as far as $$ goes for the car, yet this bloke did it all on his own, with his friends help. 🙂

  6. I know it costs a lot of money to build two cars. But I'm just think the guys that do drag week should keep one car in the states and then one for Australia but that's just me

  7. I,ve got a fast Mopar but Im only about as fast as John was 20 + years ago. He has been playing with Chrysler big blocks and that Charger for a long time now.All the best to him, wish I could do it.

  8. Maybe its a Street car in the USA, but in any Australian state or territory it is a full on drag car and not road legal in any way shape or form.

  9. Australia, ! we also got the 3 worlds fastest street legal R32 Gtrs that two of which have no roll cages, full street car 3800lbs 1200whp 7.9 @ 176mph 😀

  10. It's not the quickest Aussie street car and it's not even a street car. That thing isn't even close to legal on the street here in Australia and never is driven on out streets. Not to mention the owner loves to take the money of gullible customers with his fudged dyno figures.

  11. I live and race in perth where johns from and ive seen his car more on us dragstrips than here in perth, haven't seen it on 1 of our tracks for years.

  12. Putting us on the map.. Good work mate. We can send about another 10,000 cars over there that are just as impressive if it wasnt so hard to transport them.

  13. they're about 3100lbs with a smallblock stock. he added 1000lbs to the car somehow. big block. big diff. big cage. big tires. big driver. I dunno lol.

  14. Ok can you stop putting "street car" in the title for these types of videos? Its pretty clear that its not meant for the street even though it may be street legal. They arent STREET racing.

  15. aussie street car dnt think so and the fastest also don't think so because in Australia this vehicle would never pass the engineering test requirements
