1500hp Chevette??? WTF!?

85hp from the factory witha 90ci motor… you would have never expected to see the Chevrolet Chevette on a race track..especially at DRAG WEEK! This Chevette has had some extreme modifications made to it, including a huge 555 cubic-inch, twin-turbo motor pushing it down the 1320 in less than 8 seconds!! Would you have the balls to drive this thing?!

  1. bad ass machine,my dad had one(stock, god it was slow)these, monza's and vegas make killer hot rods and you aren't going to see 10000s of them.unique and fast is cool

  2. Not 85hp from the factory. The 1987 Chevette, which was the last model year built, was rated at 65hp. That was the highest HP model built. I should know, as I was dumb enough to buy one new. What a slug. I couldn't even take a fully loaded city bus off the line. LOL

  3. *It takes some serious courage to go 177mph in a Chevette! That thing looks seriously unstable as it's going down the track.*
Its super-short wheelbase may actually be a benefit if it was setup as a curvy road course car. But there's a reason why the professional drag race cars that do 7 second 1/4 mile times tend to have a relatively long wheelbase.
