I have a concern about putting a groove in the floor for the pedal to travel through.
That's asking for trouble for getting something stuck in there and well… the consequences.
What i suggest is that you go from a top mounted, long arm pivot, to a floor pivot system.

My first car was a 1967 gt Ford fairlane fastback lucky enough my dad own a hot rod shop and he had me in the shop at a early age of 6 helping till his passing at age 19 I watched over 130 cars trucks cars and bikes being built miss those days but sure love your page sure reminds me of those days
