Remember to educate your self on the children’s Heimlich maneuver, keep the types of maneuvers on a paper in clear view such as on a refrigerator, remind yourself how to preform it, because this can happen. You only have 3 minutes before brain death starts 🙏😔

7. The mom was actually making it harder. I know she doesn’t want the baby to die but freaking out the officer and screaming won’t make the situation better, if anything it will make it worse

21. This cop is an angel! His calm & reassuring demeanor, at the same time as performing infant Heimlich perfectly, every step, were incredible to watch, & allowed him to save the baby in an instant. I watched a video "officer saves choking baby" a few days ago, where it showed an officer attempting infant Heimlich on a baby, as the mom was hysterical. Was a long video in comparison, with the first several min showing his attempts being unsuccessful, another officer arriving & taking the mom away to give more space to the cop, then after several min, paramedics responded, & immediately freed the baby's airway, despite the video saying "cop saves choking baby", it'd actually been a paramedic that arrived just in the nick of time, that saved him. Neither cop in that video realized the officer was NOT doing the techniques properly, & that what he WAS doing, actually contributed to blocking the baby's airway worse. 2 seconds into the video, & it was obvious that the officer wasn't familiar enough with infant/ toddler life saving techniques, bc he didn't do it properly. Bc of this, the baby stayed choking that entire time, til paramedics arrived at the end, then the instant they took the baby & performed it properly (the officer kept skipping over a crucial step, & bc of it, unintentionally made the situation far worse for the baby), they saved the baby, whereas the cop had been unsuccessfully doing the technique (incorrectly), for several min. He was still credited with saving the baby, for some reason, in that video, despite that not actually being the case. If he'd known the proper way to perform it, like the officer in THIS video CLEARLY does, he would've freed that baby's airway immediately also. It's SO important, for every parent, babysitter, teacher, & first responder – anybody at all who spends any amount of time around babies, to be trained in Infant Heimlich & CPR, bc they're so different than when they're being done on an adult, so they know exactly how to act, when that emergency situation arises. That other officer left the scene, believing he'd done everything right, which is a scary thought, bc it makes me worry that the next time he does this same misstep, what's going to happen, if the paramedics do NOT arrive in time.

    The officer in this video, is truly a hero🙂 In addition to executing each step perfectly, & saving the baby within moments of arriving to the chaotic scene, he was extremely calm & reassuring, trying to calm the mother down also – she was SO lucky, that THIS was the officer that responded to her emergency, instead of any other officer, that would've maybe not known the proper techniques to use, or had a short fuse, etc… Well done officer!!!! I wish the media would show tons more stories like this 1, of our wonderful & heroic police officers, instead of only ever bombarding the public with videos of the bad cops/ situations….
