  1. such good advice about reaching out even if you don't know if there is a job! I know people who did this, and they kept on contacting. Then the company called a few months later for them to interview, and they got it! Once you get to the interview round, employers want to see who genuinely wants THEIR job.

  2. Doing an informational interview is a good idea despite what some may think. I got my first job out of grad school this way. It may not lead to a job every time but it gives you connections and a possible in if a job does become available. Just saying, every little bit helps especially now!

  3. This is awesome advice! I’ve read a few of Amanda Nachman’s pieces and am a big fan of College Magazine. She is always right on point in her direction. Pre-ordered this book and truly can’t wait for it to arrive.

  4. Really smart advice for serious people looking for smart jobs for a lifetime! This book is a great gift idea for graduating high school or college students , or anyone looking to improve their lives by doing what they love and love what they’re doing!

  5. This is excellent advice! When I was looking to change jobs, I made “courageous connections” with people from different industries just to better understand the different job titles out there and what mattered to me in a role and company. It’s how I ultimately pivoted from writing for a health care consulting company to a tech company, where I’m much happier!
