  1. Confederacy represented people that fought in a civil war for a misguided right to have slaves. That is not my opinion that is just a fact. They lost for the best of reasons, freedom, and this is the real reminder needed.

  2. Its a start now all the schools need to be renamed…keep going. Make America great for all, not just comfortable for some and unacceptable for most.

  3. America sadly was built on racism and slavery it is apart of our heritage but it's doesn't stand for our future where everyone is free equal and respected sadly that's not the case. Taking down the statues is a step in the right direction remembering racist people is in the past. I feel bad for anyone hurt during the riot but it is not in vein there will be a change after this I hope ….

  4. I'm agreed, they are part of America history, just put all of them in a museum, and people can learn, you can't erase history but you can learn from it!

  5. Okay let’s sit here and think about this logically, it’s in the south so it’s no wonder why they like the statues but you don’t put up statues of our enemies. The south lost, I know we should never forget our past but we shouldn’t put statues of these losers. I don’t see hitlers statues in Germany and Japan.

  6. I rather people show their true colors than be fake. Let them have their flag. It's a Scarlet letter so we know who's the Jackass..

  7. Racists just want someone to look up to so they can confirm their racist acts, but at the same time when has anyone really ever gone to one of those statues and really been like wow yes. Y’all want to remember them from history but want black people to forget slavery you can’t have both and the fact that slavery wasn’t long ago and you are telling a whole group of people to forget that part because it make you uncomfortable nah. Trauma from slavery is present in black people.

  8. Wow they really meant it when we give Democrat liberals one inch they keep wanting more and more until they finally can take over this country and basically run it into the ground like they are trying to do, what a shame.

  9. I understand it. Most of those statues were commissioned by the Confederate daughters of America. They literally rewrote history and changed the narrative of the war.
    "War of northern aggression.".
    "Preserve southern way of life"

  10. How about blowing up Mount Rushmore Memorial? After all Jefferson and Washington were slave owners. Weren't they? How about razing down Boston? It reminds you of the colonial past. Build by the British. Right? And this is the country that claimed to be the guiding light, the very "beacon of hope", bla-bla-bla… You are kidding, right?

  11. The ironic thing is slavery was enforced under the US flag and US law for 89 years; under the Confederate flag and confederate laws for… 4 years. Which flag gets associated with representing slavery, however. It's even worse than that. The United States revolution occurred when England wanted to end slavery in the colonies. All those nouveaurich founding fathers that made a killing in the New World setting up massive slave planations – yeah, the weren't about to go down with a fight. They were going to break and instigate a revolt and start their own country just to perpectuate slavery – and they did… just like the Confederacy would try to do again, 75ish years later…

I really wish the US flag would be as equally associated with slavery, if not more so, and be removed from public buildings and public displays for what it really is… A HATE SYMBOL.

  12. For the people saying that statues are the only ways to learn about the past, read fucking book or go on the internet, it's why they were invented.

  13. This whole matter must stop. We are all, humans and wars are not good at all. Women die children die mothers and fathers die homes destroyed it’s not worth it we have to try to live together and join hands and not let Antifa and Soros destroy our country.🇺🇸🇺🇸

  14. They can pull all the statues down they want but I guarantee it won’t change a thing ! They will go for something else! It will be Lincoln , Jefferson , Washington and Columbus. They will deface Washington . They already pushed it so far they won’t stop unless we say it’s enough!

  15. you want history? OPEN A BOOK!!! the dumbest argument ever. you dont need a monument in the middle of …………… (insert your city) glorifying oppression to remember your history. i don't see any statues of Hitler but i can't turn my head without seeing a new ww2 documentary.

  16. Oh boo hoo how does it effect them they weren’t alive during that time any way! Do They get scared when they see em? No they don’t! They are just overreacting it’s a fucking statue!

  17. THIS IS SAD, MORE FOOLISH THINKING. MORE PEOPLE TELLING US HOW TO FEEL AND THINK MORE GOVERNMENTS CAVING IN. The civil war wasn’t about the slavery issue.

  18. "THeyRe iMpORtanzT foR Us FoR oUr KiDz" bitch they got they text books no one cares for them honestly except for boomers and old people lmao
