  2. We're being killed at a rate of ~ 60,000 a month because our president is too vain to wear a mask. He should have ordered the PPE manufacturers to develop effective pandemic masks and produce enough masks for everyone because we all walk through narrow hallways and take public transportation where there's at least one coughing COVID victim. Existing filter masks are only designed to keep out saw dust so we need new masks to contain exhausted virus breath that won't compound viral load in patients or allow virus transmission through unfiltered valves. PPE manufacturers are recklessly endangering COVID patients and the general public by selling dust masks into a pandemic.

  3. PPE manufacturers are negligently selling masks designed for woodshop workers that are dangerously defective when used in the last six pandemics because the masks are causing the infection of the unwitting public and increasing the severity of illness in infected patients. They sell filter masks with unfiltered exhaust valves to hospitals and the public, causing pandemic victims to unknowingly spread virus without proper instruction or warning to add another filter mask on top of the exhaust valve. They also fail to warn their customers with explicit instructions that disclose the fact that the masks without valves may cause the pandemic victim to re-breathe virus or other pathogen from the mask to compound the viral or bacterial load in their lungs, causing more severe and even lethal acceleration of the disease. This is a classic case of a defective product tort premised on the lack of proper instruction and negligently omitted hazard warnings. Honeywell, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Gerson and other PPE manufacturers must give fair notice of possible severe disease and death if the masks are used as intended on patients known to be ill or in high exposure jobs where they are likely to become infected by a pathogen(s) transmitted from breath, spittle or coughed bodily fluids droplets. The solution is for PPE manufacturers to sell us gloves infused with disinfectant and respirators that filter the exhausted breath separately from the filtered air intake. The N95 with an exhaust valve must be augmented to exhaust the contaminated breath into a secondary filter “pillow” attached to the outside of the exhaust valve to capture the pathogen away from the inhalation portion of the mask. In the short term, you could add a surgical mask or a reversed, flat N95 mask on top of your N95 valve to limit virus transmission. Full face and half face respirators should have a new type of P100 filter developed that fits on the exhaust valve seat and filters exhausted breath to remove pathogen particles and contaminated bodily fluid droplets. We must establish OSHA standards for the improved PPE that must be worn to substantially reduce the risk of SARS-1, SARS-2, MERS, H1N1, flu, tuberculosis, pneumonia, Ebola, Marberg and similar breath and droplet borne pathogen transmission in multiple typical industries. These safety regulations establish the standard of care that employers must employ to reach a protected status for disease liability if they comply and workers and customers will be reassured of safety knowing their PPE will keep them safe. I’m not a medical professional so consult your respiratory therapist regarding the use of masks when infected or if you’re in a high pathogen exposure job. Please demand that all manufacturers who produce HEPA filter masks and respirators retrofit their respirator exhaust valves so their masks don’t allow virus transmission OR compounded disease infection. The corporate executives at these companies should be put on notice that we don’t appreciate their Typhoid Mary sales tactics that has and will cause thousands to die a horrible lonely death drowning in their own lung fluid while suffering strokes, embolisms and/or kidney failure. This gross negligence must be stopped by your: protests; civil legal action, and if they remain unresponsive to the call for better and more PPE; indictment for reckless endangerment.
