Not a fan of trump but Corona 1 (SARS) went away so who knows what's going to happen. Whatever, there's no way I'm taking a vaccine that's rushed into production. I'll take my chances and hope for some natural immunity.
This is not going to go away. This virus will continue and will cause excess deaths while waiting on a vaccine. In order to prevent those deaths now while waiting for a vaccine. We need to follow the protocol that will accomplish that. Putting people in lockdown which is an emergency measure to buy us time to put teams together to test and trace and isolate the infected and quarantine the contacts of the infected. Locking people down and failing to put those teams in place in each community so as to rapidly achieve containment which is the goal is both unnecessary and causes a great deal of stress to the people that need to be without this type of stress. We can also clear a large number of our community members to go back to work in a safe environment. This is the next step in the protocol by which we can rapidly meet the goal of achieving containment.

No tracking or quarantine in USA, and soon the government (why must I get a medical test from the government?) will stop testing because trump is saying the tests, all of them, are inaccurate. The Task Force trump used for free air time every day didn't work out, so trump said he would "phase out" the Coronavirus task force, but there was a lot of blow back from that stupid idea, so now, all the task force people are being quarantined to work from home. As I said some time ago, no matter how much Faucci tried to please trump, compromising himself and the science, trump fired him long ago.

It's hard to count on vaccines or herd immunity for a highly transmissive RNA virus such as sars-cov-2. Some politicians are selling false hope to appease people's anger over their incompetency.

Really? So after being exposed 3, 5, 10 times with the same virus, you don't think the immune system would be exposed. Don't you remember when Zika came around, everyone got infected and then everyone forgot about it. It didn't disappear, it just got and continues to infect people, but people's immune system deal with it.
How do you think we would have dealt with this virus if it had happened 50 years ago without social media. People wouldn't have even noticed.
That being said, I agree that we do need to work on treatments, but it's possible that our immune system could adapt before we even need a vaccine and it can be like the flu is today. That being said, it's also possible in a worse case scenario that it always remains a constant virus that can be aggressive (so let's say you have the flu and are hungry and also catch COVID-19, your defenses might be down so it can be a more severe infection). In this case COVID-19 could remain a constant stronger infection that lingers around, in which case we would need to be covered up in scarves. WE just don't know if it will disappear and go away with herd immunity and our bodies can adapt, or if it will always maintain its strength it turns into this strong cold that just passes around, which means we will have to hope for a treatment or vaccine, but the vaccine has to be a universal vaccine that eliminates all coronaviruses (including the ones that cause the common cold) and stop s all possible mutation of coronaviruses, and this could take years to develop. We can't rush this process. Let's take our time. It coul dtake 5 years.
