  1. We don't want people to get an artificial sense of safety from washing their hands either, but that's no reason not to tell them to wash their hands. Scientific advice is now slave to politics–we don't want to embarrass our president by pointing out that Americans would've been better protected had they access to medical masks like Koreans, Hong Kongers, and Singaporeans do.

  2. December 2019 China reported a new corona virus to WHO. The CDC knew there was a problem shortly thereafter.CDC designs a test that is unreliable . China and WHO have effective tests. USA ( under Trump) wants to make a profit from USA tests and the government does nothing to access what was already available. While we were testing hundreds, by sending tests to the CDC ,and waiting days for the results South Korea was performing thousands of tests daily. Massachusetts received “ permission “ from the CDC to perform our own tests Feb.28,2020 despite Massachusetts having some of the very best medical facilities,of all types, in the country. We had time to get large numbers of tests into production weeks before and did little to streamline the process. The many delays had more to do with the stock market than with public health. This ,of course , backfired as the “ market “ finally began to see the ramifications of the epidemic and realized the leadership necessary to mitigate and slow down the infection rate was not happening. Trump made Pence the fall guy for the catastrophe that is corona virus. Pence said that all government experts involved in the epidemic have to clear anything they say through him. We need a plan . We need drive by testing(as seen in South Korea) we need quarantine of hot spots, work on treatment protocols and investments in research. If we can slow down the infection rate we can save lives. Only the old die is a myth. Smokers dying more often than non- smokers…. does that include people who vape or pot smokers? We don’t know. We all need to grasp what exponential increase means and how important a decimal point is . The flu death rate is .1 the WHO ( not a fan) says the death rate for corona virus is 3.4. That is 34 times higher. The flu death rate for 2018 was 79,400 in the USA . If we take 70,000 and multiply by 34 it equals 2,380,000 dead. Hopefully the WHO is wrong because much of their data is from China and may not be reliable. We need to watch Italy and South Korea. People who keep referring to corona as like the flu are only correct if they are referring to the 1918 flu which killed 50 to 100 million worldwide.

  3. The Germans MAY have a therapeutic or something that slows down the replication of the virus in newly infected patients or both. They would have to collect data before sharing the data . Elements of potentially effective medication may be scarce. Any country that comes up with an effective treatment or prophylactic will share eventually after its established that it is safe enough and useful enough.

  4. The man leaving the hospital and hugging his family sounds ill and he sounds like he is full of congestion. I hope he's well, but for someone who is well, he looks and sounds sick.

  5. My prayers go out to you and your family Katie. My heart grieves with you and I pray that the LORD will give you peace in this time.

  6. WHO members are getting money from china. To close CCP virus spread in china. The board members must be removed. US please stop funding WHO.
