  1. Larry Larson made this car retire! I remember when this was considered the fastest street car at the time, but still I'm a camaro fan it was one of the nicer cars then I believe it was a supercharged camaro?

  2. Different purpose built cars entirely. These cars are built to go extremely fast in a straight line. Cars built for races around corners , is an entierly different animal.

  3. No, that's a fact. Take a car with 1,500-2,000hp, that weighs 2,300lbs, with a center of gravity WAY lower than any skyline, drag slicks on the rear that are 15 inches wide, power steering, and 10 inch wide front tires, and a drag car will eat any car on the nurburgring. It's a fact. You must understand physics to properly understand how that would work.

  4. And another thing: You have to look at it this way: these old muscle cars that people turn into drag racing cars have 10+ times more performance than even a Bugatti Veyron. Again, if power steering, and wider front tires were added, these cars would kill purpose-built track cars.

  5. Not really true. Drag cars like this (being tubbed, and having chromolly chassis) have a much lower center of gravity, and are much lighter. If this vehicle had power steering, it would destroy a skyline on the nurburgring.

  6. I watched this video long enough to see it was from the 2007 drag week. Several others have come along in recent years, notably Larry Larson and Jeff Lutz, that have surpassed the low 7's and into the 6's. Also, you can't compare a million dollar Bugatti or Enzo to these straight liners. It's apples and oranges.

  7. this car is not the fastest street legal car it starts off fast the fastest street car is the 2012 bugatti veyron supersport it does not start off fast but in the end it speeds the fuck up the fastest street car for acceleration is the 2002 Lingenfelter Corvette Z06 it goes 0-60 in about 1.3 seconds. the bugatti veyron is the fastest street legal car, swiss car makers are trying to dismount the title from bugatti. this is a muscle car they start off fast and die quick.

  8. Actually that car gets like 15mpg when it is cruising. Sucks down around 2 gallons. But that is off the racing gas that is on a switch. Fuel Cell and Gas Tank are seperated on these kinds of cars. As is ignition and pulleys/boost/plugs/wires/Carb before they leave the track.

  9. well a bronco is a bit heavy.. Power to Weight is as important as Fuel to Air. I am pretty sure she was arguing the point of Power vs. Handling. IE that Muscle car would be a terrible car on the street in reality. You know it can't turn for shit. You know the gas mileage is terrible. You know the handling capability is as limited as a boat on a trailer.

  10. I am pretty sure he was speaking in terms of a drag strip. No need to speed on regular roads. A new stock skyline is like a 60k investment.. Why not just buy an Evo and tune it? Just not a WRX they handle like a brick house.

  11. Supra's are monsters and any "v8 only" enthusiast has respect for it because those cars are their strong competition just like STI's, DSM's, Evo's, etc. etc. And 4 cylinders are capable of a lot(not rice, honda's or smart cars). People who hate on imports and american 4 cylinders like the Cobalt ss and Srt4 simply don't know shit about em, just judge them on exhaust sound regardless if they had a GT45r bolted on.

  12. you and fourteen others are morons i didn't see where she said anything about cornering in a drag only car. a few years ago a chevy colbalt took the time attack award against other japanese, european, and american cars with less power and front wheel drive to boot. give me cadilac ctsv and i'll squash that skyline

  13. i agree with you, im not into drag racing but if i would have money ill go for v8 cause here in my country everything that bolts into a v8 cost a lot of money..importation = expensive

  14. Really, put up a brand new V6 Camaro against a mid 90s v8 mustang and show me which one wins. Displacement CAN play a huge part, but the tuning of an engine and proper fuel to air mixture with proper timing is more important. I have a 5.0L in my bronco, yet my wifes v6 Pontiac produces more hp. Bigger is not always better. Todays Cars are producing more power per inch then before yet a lot of todays cars are using smaller engines then yesterdays. Educate yourself before you speak.

  15. Alot of people under estimate a corvette. A corvette is a luxury car build for speed and goes so fast so smoothly

  16. Set the car up for a road type course (such as the ring) and then taslk shit..You are comapring cars that are SET UP for drag racing to cars set up for Road course!?!?! You dont have to drive foot to the floor with 1000+ hp all the time.So your statement that this type of car wont "make a turn" is without merrit and ridiculous. Now I am not knocking any import as I have built cars on both sides.. But taking a drag set up car vs a car set up for turns is like comparing a chainsaw to a butter knife

  17. Couldn't have said it better myself. Check out this full weight Viper with cage (3700 lbs) which is street legal and pumping out 3200+ hp. The guy drives it around town and takes his kids to school in it. I have inspected it myself and it still has full interior and A/C. He races in the Outlaw class using drag radials. No 4 banger can hang with this. This is the fastest run for an IRS setup: /watch?v=crQI78sDVPg

  18. Well, we certainly know who's in charge of the fucking obvious around here! Gee, do you really think you have enlightened anyone with your awesome wisdom? No shit, noob, we all know that a car set up for dragging is more than likely not gonna win a 24 hour race at Nurburgring. Fuck, stay off the comment section of car videos, ok?

  19. MMM probably in US ,in other states people aren't racing on highways but on streets.
Doing pulls on higway is fucking boring and not fun.

  20. top gear uk road tested the that shit box in there american salt flat challenge (season 10) and after three days it was starting to fall apart and on the fourth it refused to start that is fine build quality right there

i race in amuater rallying it's cheap and affordable whole seasons of events costs a grand or 2 depending on how many trees i decide i dislike and take out,,,,,,,

  21. whats stupid about this comment is that you, along with 98% of anyone else, have not drove their car on the nurburgring or any track for that matter. people do highway pulls all the time, but almost nobody does track racing, probably you included, so to even bring that up in a comparison is asinine. PS just for your little record, the zr1 nurburgring time destroyed just about JDM record set on that track, including the skyline R35. a better comparison would have been US vs Europe on nurburgring

  22. No your stupid. So much money have been dumped into each of the cars in this video. And the STi can do work. in 1/8/th of a mile I can get to 120mph with my 04 STi pushing 330AWHP
