This victory was at the height of the Cold War, and many Americans saw it as a victory over communism.

  1. 40 years… and 40 more… until I don't have to hear about these laurels you yanks like to lean on. The only victory I acknowledge… (while wrong) is that America had the balls to drop the bomb. You've got nothing else and the world knows it. Or maybe you'd like to challenge Greta to an age contest? Easy win. USA, USA, USA… duh…FOOTBALL! USA, USAUSAASUSASUSAUUSA

  2. LOL, 40 years, wow! I worked on the film – there was a great moment when Kurt Russell fell on his ass crossing the ice. He was so fucking cool about it in his fabulous Kurt Russell way! The extra's all applauded! He waved and mugged!

  3. And here we are 40 years later and the Democrats and their propaganda media (CNN, MSNBC, etc) are trying really hard to keep the Cold War going, this time for political reasons. (Russia, Russia, Russia!)

  4. I remember watching the movie "Miracle" in P.E. and asking myself "Wow, did this really happen?" It sure did. The name on the front is a HELL of a lot more important than the name on the back!

  5. I have an “Olympic” camera from 1980. It’s in storage, so I can’t remember the brand, and it’s not the typical 35mm, has silver findings in it! I think the ones with gold embellishments are very rare.

  6. The lesson from that game resonates with everyone in all aspects of life: Never ever give up. Especially in the face of overwhelming odds. Huge upset.
