  1. I wish the updates on his condition came out sooner, for the first hour it felt that he may have died, there was this mystery on what was happening. It’s a testament to the technology and safety of these cars that he was able to walk out of the hospital on his own two feet.

  2. When they bring out the screening it is not normally a good sign, i have had to be the one holding a screen while working in the highways, and everytime it was not a good situation,

  3. Never let it be said that Dale Sr died in vain. I'm a fan of The Intimidator to this day. His tragic death is still saving lives…and families! Unfortunately, that's what it took for NASCAR to become proactive, instead of reactive, to safety.

  4. Looked like a few rain showers at the late end of the NASCAR Daytona 500, With the high tech recorders, infield what do their farmers almanac weather report state?

  5. Well don’t know the guy personally don’t follow the sport, but hope the guy is ok I wouldn’t wish that on anyone

  6. O hold on a minute, nascar actually has a black driver, I don’t watch nascar I’m more of a drag race spectator. but I sure didn’t know nascar had any black drivers

  7. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —
NASCAR driver Ryan Newman has been released from a Daytona Beach hospital after a horrific crash on Monday during the final lap of the Daytona 500.

  8. This may have not even happened if Fox needed 5 hours of pre race and started the race earlier if they knew rain was coming. They have better weather detecting devices at the tracks than your local TV station has.

  9. IT wasnt newmans fault…. i watched the scene more then 20 Times and you can see how the Nose of the car behind him is Lifting up a little bit. so he was crashed in the back by the other driver who caused the crash .. BLAIM HIM!!!

  10. Why it was leaking fuel… Did you not see the crash!?!? it was air born and smashed into the ground and then slid across a lot of distance !! of course stuff is going to break apart and be destroyed.

  11. Terrible wreck and glad to see that he is awake and in recovery. This was a very informative video! I now know more about the protective equipment that drivers have to protect them from neck and head injuries that unfortunately had taken Dale Earnhardt out in 2001. To hit a wall at over 170mph and survive is testament that NASCAR is taking driver safety seriously.
