  1. This was a really lovely act and I don’t mean to spin this to a negative. I hope those dogs found amazing loving homes. However if someone is thinking of doing this in the future, I would advise NOT to.

The adoption fee is there for a reason. Usually it’s about $150- and that’s a lot less than what a dog is going to cost in the future. The adoption fee ensures that families who adopt have the finances to be able to pay for vetting, food etc etc. A dog is a financial responsibility and more often than not the dogs end up back in the shelter or not being properly cared for.

If you’re wanting to help shelter dogs I would advise donating money to the shelter (to help with food, beds, toys which might make staff have a better time making the quality of life better for the dogs in there) or volunteer your time and make them better dogs for their future owners.

Again, I hope these dogs came to families that loved them a lot and are able to take on the responsibility and that this was just a push that they needed. I still appreciate this act as it was a good deed but I don’t necessarily think it’s the best approach to the problem.
