I could'nt hold my tears falling – long long years of conflict to save the lives of citizens in some distant oreign countries and foreign unfamiliar faces of humanity, continued suffering in an NEVER ending wars from these foreign-distant land called the Middle East ! !
My mom's dad immigrated to the USA in California late 1920's but was murdered during going conflict between Mexican Union workers. His body was never returned to my grandmother in the Philippines, but his one hand was chopped and returned to Grand mother Elena ! She never received any kind of compensation and was essentially ignored. Grandma Elena sold fish in the market place, with that little income she educated my Mom and uncle Berong thru many many side jobs and working as maid in a Catholic Church
Mom and her brother Severo were quite young lads at that time , My mom came to the USA in1964 as a Special Ed teacher.- met a long distance bus driver with a high IQ nut came from a family of drunk. They married, Dad enrolled at MIT Philippines and TO the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Board Exam, with8 children and me the only girl. Thru all their struggles Mom & Dad produced 8 children and I am the only girl. Education is the greatest equalizer. Mom & Dad were married for 70 years and were at each other's arms thru thick and thin. We missed them so much, and even with some family squabbles, my 7 brothers love me so much. I could not ask for more . Maybe one day in a long distant time we will unite again. For the moment, my brothers and me have each other's to learn on – – – thru rain or shine thru thick and thin. I consider myself very blessed and so lucky for all the blessing bestowed upon me an my brothers ! !
