17. I plan on making a good living with or without UBI. That being said, anyone who says UBI is a bad idea has never been poor; They don’t know wha it is like.
    Lots of people don’t even know what poor really is. If you had a computer growing up you weren’t poor. If you had a gaming console you weren’t poor. If you got to go to the movies or amusement parks then you weren’t poor. My parents would get eviction notices, once we even had to go to stay with relatives because we had no place to stay. I never had my own room or even a bed growing up. All of my parents decisions in life were based on money and where they can find work to get more; my father left my mom and from then on she would have to put 12 hour shifts then come home and raise 4 kids.
    Yes, you can make an argument that perhaps, my parents should have been more responsible with having kids and I agree, nonetheless, we still had a hard life.
    I am 27 now and struggling at the moment, but I am in school and trying to make a better living.
    When I walk about, I see kids my age or younger all the time who can go to school and don’t have to worry about money, they have all the free time in the world, they have never dealt with the trauma that being poor gives you. It makes me jealous.

    I am even a fan of Ben Shapiro, but I disagree when he talks about UBI. He claims to have put himself through school by himself which may be true, however, he makes one grave mistake in his argument, he doesn’t understand what being poor is like.
    Parents of poor families are always working and don’t have the time to raise their kids properly, they try to get as much hours working as possible. UBI can lower the stress of poor parents so they can have more time to attend to their kids. Which will solve lots of problems in urban areas. This argument he makes about UBI being a bad idea because it will kill creativity, please, That is first world privilege right there! Some people actually need it, and yes some don’t. I can say now that I don’t exactly need it now, but if there are families out there who are like mines was, then they need it.
