Army veteran makes wooden toys by hand for children in need

Jim Annis, 80, who said he spent some Christmases as a child without gifts, toils in his makeshift toy shop every year to ensure the youth in his community have at least one present to open.

  1. While the intent is honorable, kids do not want and will not be able to appreciate handmade wooden toys. There's not much replay value or challange for a child there. So he does what he does to make himself feel better with little regard for the child's needs or wants.

  6. Beautiful story! Our boys are in their 20's and 30's, and some of the best and favorite toys they were given when younger were wooden, handmade toys.
