  1. Why doesn't everybody realize there is no reason to put the grandfather in jail ??….The man thinks about his granddaughter dying by his hand EVERY SINGLE DAY. Each and every breath he takes reminds him of her. He will torture himself for the rest of his life. His family will forgive him, but, he will NOT forgive himself. I think everybody should just leave him to himself……….

  2. So according to an eye witness, he was using the open window as a clearer backdrop/background for the selfie of her and him. He was only holding her with one hand and she squirmed causing him to lose his grip. He knew the window was open. Bull on the color blindness excuse. He is guilty and should be held accountable for his actions. A selfie!? so stupid on his part.

  3. So I guess not only being stupid but Being colorblind is why you are not able to see if a window is open. Need to have your driver license taken if that's the case. This is tragic, it's easy to blame the ship and try to get a buck out of it too. He needs jail time!

  4. Come on, who's buying this???!
His story doesn't match what's said to be on the video.
His first response was way off, the whole thing wreaks of another mccann story.

  5. The ship should take a part in that negligent homicide also. Obviously it was a terrible accident. Why in the world would there not be glass in one window when there was glass everywhere else? So awful.

  6. First off…this is absolutely tragic and I feel for the little girls parents!… Grandfather is guilty even though it's an accident…not the cruise ship….the local police are pressuring grandpa to admit guilt for a lesser sentence (most likely because the police are corrupt and probably have an incentive from the cruise line which will inevitably help with the lawsuit)… all in all… it's tragic

  7. Now, they’re not saying she banged on the glass, the panel fell out and she went over. How on earth did he pick the ONE section that didn’t have glass? Was he actually trying to let her look over and dropped her? Come on

  8. It's like the parents in the grandfather sat at the round table when the baby died and said well the baby's gone let's make some money out this tragedy, shaking my f****** head they're all diabolical and Evil at this point they don't care about the baby all they just care about is making money at this point they said let's just get the millions will just make another baby they are heartless with your fake tears to cover up their plot knowing they have blood on their hands too for bringing their baby on that ship I swear you can't make this s*****up its just raw evil

  9. Ommmmmmm….the parents aren’t charging him but are suing the cruise line??! I can see not charging your own family member for an accident but was this planned?!! $$$$$$$$??

  10. Well they said the video wasn’t public but I saw it. It was posted here on YouTube. They leaned against it( thinking it was a window like the rest) but it opened and the baby fell forward to her death it was horrible

  11. Even if the window was closed, it gives me anxiety just thinking of my child near a window that high up. What kind of idiot would not have a grip the whole time.

  12. Oh. That's different. I thought he placed her on the railing to lean against the glass in one motion. But he stood her up. Looked over. Then sat her down and looked over. That's different. Not that he did it on purpose. But I think it's an elderly thing. Not as sharp as a parent would be. Cruises have alot of commotion. Different environment. Grandpa not on the ball for such an unfamiliar environment with a toddler. Was it at night? Or in the middle of a long vacation? A little extra tired. So grandpa not fully alert? The whole thing is tragic. Truly tragic.

  13. This is BS. How could he not know the window was opened when he initially put his head out to look over the bar then went back to grab the baby? Plus, it’s common sense not to put the baby there in the first place. So lame 😒

  14. God how do you even come back from that. i would be depressed for the rest of my life and could never forgive myself. but i do not see how this is the cruise ship’s fault. i think they’re just upset and not in the right state of mind.

  15. A tragedy of this magnitude can occur anywhere, I don’t like to hold babies & small children at high places period, I’m glad the family isn’t going to prosecute the granddad, its just such a terrible & hard thing to live with all around, heartbreaking loss, I am a grandparent & great grandparent of two toddlers, i don’t think i could ever get over it…….

  16. Whatever excuses are made, the fact will always remain that the grandfathers common sense was definitely the problem here.
Whether he thought the window was shut or not is irrelevant, why would you put a toddler on a railing in the first place, open window or closed!?
How can you blame the cruise ship for your dumb decision!?
All windows closed and you just happened to go to the one open one? OR DID HE KNOW IT WAS OPEN AND THAT'S WHY HE CHOSE THAT WINDOW FOR HER TO LOOK OUT OF, TO SEE BETTER? After she fell, he starts claiming that he didn't know it was open to avoid blame. Seems likely.
