This doesn't make this pair of women "first", it effectively makes them, as women, last as we know space walks by men barely generate a mention in the depths of news reporting these days. It is a routine activity necessary to support the Space Station and other equipment out in orbit. Just another indication that women are overwhelmingly NOT innovators, pioneers, adventurers, or risk takers. That young girls need women to be inspired while boys and men "just go and do it" speaks volumes of the differences between the two sexes.
