44. A horrible way to lose your son, I have gone through the same thing. May you carry on his generosity, laughter and love.

47. 5 years ago I lost my partner of 19 years who was tortured with depression and no-polar schizo affected disorder. His demons finally won. I found that most at risk were thought to be so aware that Suicide couldn’t happen. My shared sorrow to the Raskins & all those who knew Tommy.

48. In order to heal the ravages of suicidal depression, one can't face one's demons alone. It can't be done without the surrender to a higher power. Lots of loving support from others is an important first step but ultimately one has to muster the courage to know the unknowable and that takes relentless work on one's self and one's relationships. Pills from a bottle are OK for worst-case episodes, but for true growth, it takes a genuine commitment to battle one's self practically as well as spiritually. The two are inseparable.
