  4. The Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11.they eradicated poppy production but after we installed Karzai production went out the roof.we invaded Afghanistan to controlled the opium trade.

  12. It was pointless in the first place to talk to a wolf with a hope that the wolf would manage the poultry under an oath to go vegan. You have spent 19 years there, because you chose a wrong partner. You kept fighting against the proxies of your own partner. The partner Pakistan kept milking you in the process.
    Now the only way to get out is to keep Pakistan out of it, carry out a massive campaign to finish Taliban and then exit. It would have been much more easier if you could rope in Iran – a natural enemy of Taliban.

So the Afghan Taliban & other nationality Taliban are supposed to suffer 1000 killed in Afghanistan or such a place Yet one US military personnel gets killed and Trump in a huff ends it all.

    You might think after the Russians had invited themselves to Afghanistan and the US doing so that the Afghans are just that bit sick and tired of foreign powers in their land and might want them out.

    What would these talks be about then, Trump says blah, blah blah and an Afghan says through their interpreter, "I'll have to stop you there Trump, we just want you out, clear off, when are you going".

  31. Thank God these talks are Dead and we should be thankful that Trump did actually turn from this direction! Obama, more than any other President, on the other hand; had regular (according to White House visiting records) meetings with the “Muslim Brotherhood” which the ABC did not take him to taste on! In point of fact; Obama did more than any President to strengthen the hand of Jihad against America. Remember; he was instrumental in supporting the ‘MusIim Broherhood’ push to power in Egypt, actively supporting them and penalising those opposing their rise to brutal power. I have over 20 years researching Islam, its primary text, theology, schools of law, history, it’s ‘Threat Doctrine’ directed towards non-Muslims (Jihad) and everything contributing to the comprehensive Islamic Worldview. Between June 2001 and mid 2010 I regularly attended Islamic meeting for Muslims by Muslims, that I might understand what Islamic leaders were saying to, especially their men. I am telling you this to say the following; There is absolutely nothing to be gained for Peace (ie: Peace from a Western understanding) by negotiating with the Taliban but a whole lot to loose! Any peace talks with the Taliban are understood by them to be weakness, to be taken advantage of, that is all! If you understand Islamic groups like the Taliban you know that the meaning of ‘Compromise’ or ‘reconciliation’ when negotiating with the unbelievers (America, us); have an entirely different definition to our Western understanding. The Jihad group view these same terms as your weakness and as an opportunity to gain ground by non-kinetic, if not kinetic means. Their strategic aim or goal is always to eventually bring you to submit to the rule of Sharia, this is always the intention. The so called, by us ‘Peace Talks’ or ‘Reconciliation, Compromise’ efforts will be understood by them to be purely an opportunity for a ‘Tactical Manoeuvre’ under the umbrella of their overarching strategy to bring us under the rule of Islam, Sharia. War against the unbelievers (that’s us) theologically can NEVER HAVE AN END until all are brought to submission to Islam. There is a proven successful way to deal with this problem but not until we understand the ‘Threat Doctrine’ we are up against. Teza from Sydney Australia

  34. I have to somewhat agree no Taliban member should ever set foot there. The Taliban are not very bright, who knows why they would kill someone on the eve of such a meeting, probably no logical reason, savages. Trump is looking to "create deals" and peace so much he would even go as far as a meeting with the Taliban at camp David though, that is bold.

  39. About 1 year ago I said that Trump would threaten to leave Afghanistan until they cut him in on all that wonderful poppy money. Anyone who believes otherwise may be to stupid to justify their own existence.
