The Italian justice system is a big joke.A man from Veneto who was home-broken by 2 gypsies was fined thousands of Euros and sentenced to prison for shooting at the intruders.He's dead now and the intruders are free.

The Italian rank "Brigadiere" has nothing to do with the English "Brigadier". A Brigadier is a GENERAL, while an Italian "Brigadiere" is just a SERGEANT. So David Wright got it translated incorrectly from some Italian sources.

Hi, I'm Italian and I live in Italy, so I can explain better what is happening and how jails are here. It will be hard to explain, just cause there are lot of things to say about this fact. First, in our political situation, our internal minister Salvini Matteo will use this facts to give more power (and an electric gun, the taiser) to police officers. I don't vote salvini, but I absolutely agree with this. Second, jails in Italy. Here jails are modulated jn function of your crime. If you are a simple pusher, jails are not too hard, you can work to make some money, you can do some sport, study etc… But if you do something stupid like killing a "carabiniere" (like police officers, but another group of special forces) the jail is hell on earth. If you are pedophile is better if you kill yourself, or your cellmates will do it for you. But it's not finished. There is one punishment reserved for the highest level of crime: mafia bosses. The punishment here is called "41 bus". A special treatment for mafia bosses, the worst thing that can happens to you. 41 bis means that you will live forever alone in a 2×2 room, without see the light of sun or go out your jail. Never. I hope I explained it well, and I hope that the 2 Americans guys will be processed and justice done.
