Apollo 11 50th Anniversary: The lasting impact of landing on the moon | ABC News

How Apollo 11 changed the course of human history.

On July 16, 1969, the trio lifted into space aboard the Apollo 11 and then entered a lunar orbit. By the next day, Armstrong and Aldrin, aboard the lunar module Eagle, had separated from Collins who remained in the command module.

And on July 20, 1969, Americans and the staff at Apollo Mission Control in Houston, Texas, watched and listened in amazement as Armstrong and then Aldrin placed their feet on the moon’s surface.

  1. The Americans and Russians both used plundered technology from defeated NAZI Germany to start the space race, looks like the Americans got the better German scientists than the Russians, Werner Von Braun being the best.

  2. Do people actualyl believe, or supposedly "know" it is a hoax? or do they just like the kids who harrassed me at school who just smiled when they knew they where doing something wrong? Those smug little jerks that love the attention?
