6. Some Catholic bishops are a bunch of hypocrite. They stand in front of you telling you to love your enemies as you love yourself but they lack compassion for gays. I am catholic myself, I believe in God but I questioned my catholic faith because of bishops like this.

28. Not know the full details about the situation, I can only pull from experience. A local catholic school to my undergrad university had a gay teacher. They knew he was gay, but hired him anyway. The only stipulation was that he did not get married to his boyfriend while he was a teacher.

    He did just that over spring break, so he was fired. It was his choice to accept this stipulation then to break it.

    With this Jesuit school, however, I do not believe the same was the case. The school supporting the teacher tell me that the teacher was such a good person and teacher that his sexual orientation had no bearing.

    Further, I believe this further demonstrates there is division within the church between the younger, more accepting priests and the older … not so pious (or maybe self righteous? I can't quite articulate the correct descriptors at the moment. ) faction of the church. Hasn't anyone else noticed it is lecherous old men doing the most unholy acts, or so it seems by the images of the priests presented in the news?

34. I am happy to see the archdiocese doing what his position calls for. It's not a Catholic school when staff break the laws of God. These are private institutions and have every right to keep strick rules and make sure everyone abide by them. This school and teacher has made a grave mistake. No more funding means no more school. No true status with the church means no true Catholics bring thier children to be taught there. So yea no more money, they all lose Thier jobs. The church will open another school kids and teachers eligible will transfer. As for this fake Priest at the end. Do your research he is not with the church but has a bogus online certificate. Never actually trained, taught, or been granted status in the church. As for appealing that's not how the church works. It's a court house, it's the house of God, what the archdiocese says goes, there is no "jumping the gate" or "skipping a step" by trying to go over the head of the archdiocese. Fucking morons. We been keeping our community together for years. A few years from now the school will go up for sale an we will move back in. The teacher should do the right thing and go teach where his life style is compatible with the other abominations like him.
