Authorities say a 17-year-old girl was attacked while swimming at Fort Macon State Park and rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.

  1. a suspected shark, OH what is he being accused of? ARREST THAT SHARK he is a criminal. (pathetic news) STAY ON THE GROUND the sea is not your playground. What do you expect, they don't use their fins to check you out 'Oh what is this?' they use their teeth and since they have powerfull jaws and we the humans have soft skin of course they will limb you down easily so stay out of the freaking water. Stop throwing trash, peeing in it and whatever.

  3. "Suspected" Shark Attack?? *scratches head* Well it sure wasn't a Seahorse… This girl was doing nearly everything I just read to protect oneself from a shark attack. She was swimming in mid-day. She wasn't swimming alone. Idk if she had open wounds or was wearing jewelry. A group of Great White's were spotted in the area just days before she was attacked. I feel there should have been A) Closer observation and B) A notice to the beach goers there were sharks spotted so they could decide if they wanted to go in the water or not.

  5. So whats this bounty offered for proof that sharks actually attack humans and that was never claimed @ the turn of the 19th century? The story that i read on live science is that the 1916 shark attack (fake news) story followed this. The person that wrote the movie jaws is quoted telling people his movie had nothing to do with that 1916 news story even though people insist it did. WTF?

  6. Honestly they can build bridges under water, subways under ground etc. Why has it took this many years to do something about it to protect the swimmers. I hear they are trying to start charging beach visitors on free land and water…..that God gave us to enjoy. The only thing free we have left. Why not build something that goes just a little ways out from dirt . That separates swimmers from sharks and close the sides also on each end miles apart . Only give swimmers certain areas to swim in at new safety zones along the beach that they build. Instead of worrying about chargeing swimmers to swim on free land like they are trying to do they could worry about stuff like that. We build everything else out of this world under ground…..over ground. This has been going on for years . I think it's time to come with ideas.

  8. Thats one of the main reasons i hv respect for the ocean specially if its dawn time nd no one is around to render aid. Im glad she survived the attack nd hope she gets better soon God bless

  9. There have been a lot of shark attacks recently, probably because their populations are finally coming back. Hope people don't take this out of proportion again and start mass killing them again.

  32. What's making them come towards the beaches more and killing humans. Either electromagnetic feild is is breaking as they use sonar to navigate? They are running away from something. Makes you wonder? As long as it's not deep blue sea we stand a chance to fix problem

  37. I'm going to the beach in 2 weeks and I'm not planning on swimming in the ocean. Might just stick my feet in it. Not gonna risk getting anywhere near a shark.

  39. My pool at 24 Hour Fitness is fantastic only thing I got to worry about in that pool is fat whales….. I'm sorry I mean obese people that have no self-control.
