Hope Trump goes ahead with his threat to impose tariffs on Mexico products because it increases the price America will have to pay once the effects of all his tariffs are fully felt by the average consumer.
Trump clearly does not understand how to run a country because trade is not neccessarily a zero sum game what you loose is what I gain. Sure tariffs will hurt the originating countries like China, EU, India, Canada and Mexico etc but its because if affects the demand for their products and not the lie that Trump has been dishing out that they will be paying for the tariffs.
The tariffs will be paid by the importers which are American companies and some or all of it will be passed onto the consumers.
Trump talks as if you can switch your supplies from the countries hit by tariffs to another country, this is easier said than done plus it will not do anything to the total trade deficit.
America's huge trade deficit is simply because America and Americans consume more than they produce no matter where you source the products/services. Trump clearly does not or do not want to understand this.
Tariffs hurt everyone and there is no winner because everyone will end up losing and its my speculation that America is likely to be the bigger loser at the end of the day. Trump's aid to the farmers are nothing but making American taxpayers pay for part of the losses faced by the farmers which ends up everyone losing.
Nothing to say you should not take actions against unfair trade practices but not by imposing tariffs across the board is clearly wrong and misconceived.
Trump is clearly not a good businessman or a smart economist.
all he wants to do is taught a 94% approval rating among Republican voters…….ummm i think he needs to concerned with his overall approval rating which is 46% because he can not win re-election with only Republican voters or absent of any effort to grow his base…
