Alabama station refuses to air ‘Arthur’ same-sex wedding

Alabama Public TV will not air the episode because of the trust parents have in its station, the network’s program manager said.

  1. So lemme get this straight (no pun intended)…we have no problem celebrating Disney movies with our little ones where princesses are marrying men after knowing them for less than one day…but suddenly an innocent shot of a gay wedding where they don't even kiss or even really embrace is considered corrupting our children?….Mmmkay….

  2. I don't have a problem with Ratburn being gay. My problem with the show is that there was no real establishment, like we never got to see his boyfriend ever, the kids are for some reason invited to his wedding (not normal), the kids judge his sister and think she's awful, but his boyfriend who they've only had one interaction with at the chocolate shop, he's suddenly acceptable, no questions asked. So after viewing the episode, I don't care that Ratburn is gay, my issue is that the episode had terrible writing and it was a dumb way to introduce Ratburn as gay, like they rushed it and rushing things is never a good thing.

  3. Most parents d not want to program their kids to follow the LGBT agenda, so is there something wrong if I say I don't want my kids exposed to LGBT? I want to program them the way I program them, which is the natural opposite sex attraction which allows them to reproduce and pass on their genes and my genes.

  4. I don’t blame them for not wanting to air The episode these children that watch this television show are between the ages of three and eight and there’s no need for them to learn about Asensitive topic like this at such an early age

  5. It was such a cute episode. Who cares about the gender? Young children would probably think Patrick was Mr. Ratburn’s father and that Patty was the bride.

  6. I can't believe the show is still running. I thought it ended around the 2000's.

But now the question is, are they still gonna call him "Mr. Ratburn" or is he gonna take his husband's last name?
(And on the subject, since his husband looks similar to Arthur's dad, did Mr. Ratburn had secret feelings for Mr. Reed & was bummed because he was still happily married, so he married someone that looks like Mr. Reed? 😳 )
