  2. The fallen heroes were chief petty officers Cédric de Pierrepont and Alain Bertoncello serving within the French Navy’s Commando Hubert, the French counterpart of SEAL Team 6. Those SOF operators were the best among the elite. We will remember them for their sacrifice in the war on terror. France will prevail as always. If you are passing by Paris someday, please take some time to pay tribute to them at the Paris Memorial for the Fallen in Operations Abroad. They have their names written in gold letters as they deserve. RIP

  3. Just wanted to share my condolences for the two brave soldiers who gave their lives. I’m glad the French Government chastised the “tourists”. They’re lucky to be alive.

  4. Those idiots, ignoring the warning, went to dangerous countries do not deserve the sacrifice of two excellent young men. Next time someone who wants to experience this kind of excitement should go to Chernobyl and get himself radiated, and die alone.

  5. the prayer of the French military paratroopers

I am speaking to you, my God
    Because you give
What can only be obtained from oneself.
Give me, my God, what you have left,
Give me what nobody never one wants.
I do not ask you for the repose
    Neither tranquility,
Neither that of the soul, nor that of the body.
I do not ask you for wealth,
Neither the success nor even the health.
All this, my God, you are asked so much,
That you must not have any more !
Give me, my God, what you have left,
Give me, what no one wants.
    I want insecurity and worry
I want the turmoil and the fight,
And that you give them to me, my God,
    once and for all.
That I'm sure I always have them
Because I will not always have the courage
    to ask you all that.
Give me, my God, what you have left,
Give me what others do not want,
But give me also the courage,
And the strength and the faith.
Because you are the only one to give
What can only be obtained from oneself.

André Zirnheld, professor of philosophy and poet, volunteer in a french
squadron of the British SAS during World War II, he is killed in 1942
during a raid in Egypt. In his personal affairs, will be found a
notebook on which he wrote several poems including this text written in
1938 …… it will become our prayer … and also one of our military
    march song ….

  6. I am really sorry.
Blessed are the fallen soldiers. Thank you very much for your dedication beyond nationality. – From Korea

    Je suis vraiment désolé.
Bienheureux les soldats tombés au combat. Merci beaucoup pour leur dévouement au-delà de la nationalité. – De Ćoree

  7. When the government says this or that place is off limits to citizens it means that they have Intel that it's dangerous to go there. When you disobey that order shit happens and in this case it cost the lives of two elite soldiers which undoubtedly cost France millions of dollars to train them. My condolences to the family of the two fallen heroes.
